Maison Martinique Restaurant, features exquisite cuisine by award winning Chef Yannick Martin and superior service from your host Valerie Martin. Romantic alfresco dining, three beautiful dining rooms and tapas and drinks upstairs at Havana Nights Piano Bar create a perfect venue for a night out at Maison Martinique.

Master Chef Yannick Martin drives the restaurant with his award winning talents to bring this new establishment right to the top in a very short time. Martin’s name recognition is backed by impressive credentials, reflected by both his schooling at Brittany’s Rennes St. Malo and the breadth and geography of his past employment and restaurant ownership that spans from France, Boston, San Francisco, New Orleans and finally Vero Beach.

Most recently and perhaps best known locally for his award winning restaurant Cafe du Soir — an establishment that was the best of the best for more than 19 years in Vero Beach and held the DiRona award for 9 straight years. Yannick and his wife Valerie are very well know for providing Vero Beach with top cuisine paired with flawless service to make any establishment they run a sure bet.

The menu at Mason Martinique is surprisingly extensive with plenty of selections in every category. The sauces are amazing and the portion size is beyond what you would expect of a french restaurant. You won’t find over-the-top food art with fancily fashioned root vegetables strategically arranged to hold up a piece of salmon cut to look like a dolphin jumping through a hoop of fire, but you will find fresh ingredients, prepared with classic techniques paired with an amazing array of top notch sauces. The results are delicious. The Snapper for two, a nightly special, falls into this category. The snapper is pan seared, finished in the oven, topped with a classic buerre blanc sauce and is presented table side before carved and platted for you. This is simple a MUST have! Also don’t overlook the Rack of Lamb as it is the best you will find just about anywhere. Dover Sole is usually available and also highly recommended. The desert selection is also fantastic. The Napoleon, three thin brittle-like cookies made with caramelized shaved almonds are layered with fresh strawberries, raspberries and a Chantilly cream on a raspberry coulis … get it! The espresso ice cream with swiss chocolate sauce is also a lick-the-bowl type of dessert. The chocolate sauce is amazing.

While jackets are not required, this is a fine restaurant and most men were wearing sport coats or at least at a minimum dressed business casual. The tapas bar is a little more casual and can be a night on it’s own without even stepping into the dinning room for the full treatment. Pricing is not for the faint of heart but what would you expect from a top restaurant. Overall Mason Martinique is excellent. Service, cuisine and atmosphere are all running in sync and make this our top pick for fine restaurants in this area.

Service was poor, way below what is expected of a fine dining restaurant and not up to the “Cafe du Soir” standards of old.
Hostess was inept and inexperienced. Couldn’t find the reservation on her list because she couldn’t read– i.e., was mispronouncing the name she was looking at on her list, so didn’t recognize the name as called out to her. She was also flustered by the fact that we were a four rather that a two as on her list. The reservationist was told we would be a 2 or a 4 and we were told that was no problem.
The waiter didn’t know anything about the winelist.
The entrees arrived and were all served to the wrong person.
The waiter read a ridiculously long list of specials: 2 soups, 3 salads, 3 or 4 hors’dourves, and at least 8 entrees without a leave-behind card listing them.
The waiter had a table of 11 next to us that he was also serving and never once returned to take a second wine order. We flagged down another waiter to bring the winelist again and place the order. To add insult to injury they had the gall to charge $2.50 to split a salad on a bill for 4 over $260. Won’t be trying them again and will recommend my friends not waste their money.

Could not disagree more with the previous review. Just finished a most wonderful meal at Maison Martinique. We arrived and were greeted promptly, shown to the most lovely, cozy table in the main, beautifully appointed dining room, and dinner only got better from there. My husband and I split an appetizer from the special of the day menu, and we each sampled a salad, also from the specials menu. How could anyone complain that there are too many specials??? The main course was absolutely divine. Red snapper for two, cooked perfectly, and a large portion now sitting in my fridge for lunch tomorrow. Pay no attention to the last lackluster review. I live in New York. Routinely eat in the best restaurants the city has to offer. I know a good meal when I have one. Tonight, I definitely had one. And by the way, the manager, Greg, is foremost a highly skilled waiter, so he knows how to make a room work. Well done! Maison Martinique is always on my list when in Vero. I’m going back next Tuesday night and am eagerly looking forward to it.

What! Really?

The expression “cool as a cucumber” apparently comes from English physicians advising patients to lie on cucumbers, in the mistaken belief that this would lower their fever.
