Comments: Casual, flavorful, above the typical ordinary mindless cuisine and very reasonable prices. Down side… it’s in a strip mall and the wine selection is basic. Try it for a casual lunch and you will likely go back! Worth a visit.

Excellent food - nicely spiced, great flavor. Service superb. They have a grouper dish that doesn’t appeal when reading the description, but is absolutely delicious when delivered. My favorite and I’m not a fish fan.
As Mikey would say, try it, you’ll like it.
My wife and I went on vacation in Sebastian for the second year in a row at the end of June, 2010. We just discovered Mo-Bay Grill this year. We wish we had discovered it last year! We live in Columbus, OH and have had our share of experiences with the wide range of restaurants that a big city has to offer. After eating at Mo-bay 4 of the 7 evenings of our vacation (and 2 breakfasts), we both agree that it is the best food we’ve ever tasted. In a big city, you would pay double and triple for the quality and quantity of food you receive here. The head chef, Wesley, takes pride in his work and it shows as every entrée tastes as good as it looks. He even came out to chat with us each time and make sure everything was satisfactory with our meals.
Though Mo-bay is listed as a Jamaican restaurant, the menu has a wide range of foods in addition to the several Jamaican dishes. I will give you a review of each of the dishes that I tried. The first night, I ordered the Chicken Run Down which has this incredible coconut based sauce/marinade. Wow, 5 out of 5! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was unique and a perfect taste with the chicken. The second night, I ordered the Peppercorn Strip Steak. Again, 5 out of 5! Not only do you get a nice sized tender steak, but the peppercorn sauce/gravy/marinade is also unique and incredible! The third night, I tried the Apple Glazed Pork Chops. Now, I’ve had plenty of pork chops in my life - never been anything special. So I figured, OK, let’s see what he can do with pork chops. WOW! 5/5! This might have been my favorite meal of the week! He somehow cooked the chops perfectly so they were not tough, but tender and tasty. The chops themselves had great flavor, and the addition of the apple glaze and actual chopped apples just put it over the top. So good! The final dinner we ate there, I wanted to try the Philly Cheese-steak Sandwich. Best Philly Cheese-steak I ever had! No, I’m not kidding. You’ve never had a gourmet cheese-steak until you’ve had this one. 5/5! I ordered it with steak-fries and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad, itself, was just awesome! Other side dishes that I had throughout the week, which were as exceptional as the main dish, included garlic mashed potatoes and this shredded vegetable side that was, well, exceptional!
My wife and I also got the Fried Plantains appetizer a couple times. Never had fried plantains, but loved this! It is a must try! Speaking of my wife, she tried a couple of the seafood dishes which I’m sure she’ll mention in her review.
Finally, as far as the food is concerned, I saved the best for last. You must go there for breakfast and order the Pumpkin Pancakes. “Wow” simply does not describe what I need to say here. BEST pancakes I’ve ever had. Got them twice! I actually ate the first one without any syrup, it was so good!
Oh! And I cannot forget the dessert! I tried the Banana Rum Cheesecake - so good! I might even say the best cheesecake I’ve ever had!
As for the service - 5/5! The waiter and waitress that we had throughout the week both were very personable, friendly, and helpful. And I’ve already mentioned that the head chef/owner, Wesley, came out and chatted with us each night. Very friendly gentleman and obviously an incredible cook.
The value, I’ve already mentioned. You would easily pay double or triple in a big city for what you get here, and I guarantee the food would not be as good.
The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed, yet it is a fine dining experience. The music and decor is Jamaican and the staff is the friendliest you will find.
Overall, you cannot visit Sebastian without going here at least twice while there. That way you can try at least 2 of the entrees. And don’t forget breakfast! My wife and I wished we had a longer vacation so we could continue to try different dishes there. And if we had even more time, I would have gotten everything a second time. I cannot recommend Mo-bay Grill enough!
