The Tides Restaurant Closes for Vacation

The Tides Restaurant on Cardinal drive in Vero Beach will be closing for a little more than a month starting July 27th. As typical with the Tides Restaurant, closing for a month each year gives everyone a chance to squeeze in a vacation and a little R&R before the 2009 season kicks in.

We’ll look forward to seeing the Tides back in action in September for a little blue and green salad and the swordfish with the tropical fruit salsa… maybe we’ll even be surprised with a few new tricks!

So to the Tides crew… enjoy your vacation!

Cheers!

What! Really?

According to Old London’s brand Melba Toast, Melba Toast was Inspired and named after the popular opera diva, Nellie Melba in the late 1800’s. Nellie refused to eat her pate on a thick slice of bread. “A sandwich, dear friend, at this hour goes against my taste and my figure.”
Famed Parisian Chef Auguste Escoffier went back to the kitchen, thinly sliced the bread and toasted it, creating a delicious low-fat, low-calorie snack cracker.
